HST Relief is here!

Writer's picture: WanderWander

The Federal Government is gifting Canadians a bit of a cash flow break this holiday season with some HST relief from December 14th, 2024 to February 15th, 2025.

Unprocessed/raw food products at grocery stores were always HST-exempt, but the prepared and processed foods elsewhere in the stores were not. Now, most of the food and beverages in the grocery stores will all be exempt.

This relief has been extended to include other necessities, gifts and more that Canadians usually purchase during this season - and that includes dining out!

Here is a snapshot of what is eligible for HST relief…

What does that mean for dining and shopping at Wander, you ask?

✔️ All food items (including Lindens Gourmet Mustards!) are HST exempt.

✔️ All wine, beer, cider and non-alcoholic beverages are exempt.

✔️ Cocktails that contain only wine or beer as their alcoholic component are exempt (spirits are NOT exempt.) For example, Bellinis are exempt. Negronis are not.

✔️ That also means our wine pairing classes are HST exempt

✔️ That also means our Tutored Tastings are all HST exempt

✔️ That also means you can purchase any of our wines for home or gifting without added HST (on top of our 20% discount).

Shopping and dining at Wander Food & Wine is going to be much easier for wine lovers and those shopping for them this season!
